A 4-Week Dutch Speaking Plan Built Around Daily Voice Practice
A Dutch speaking plan for A2-B1 learners using ChickyTutor voice roleplays, verb-second word order, de/het nouns, g/ch pronunciation, repair phrases, and weekly goals.
A 4-Week Dutch Speaking Plan Built Around Daily Voice Practice
This plan is for the learner who understands more Dutch than they can say. You may recognize vocabulary and pass app exercises, but speaking still feels slow because you are assembling the sentence under pressure.
Use ChickyTutor as the daily loop: speak, get one correction, repeat the better Dutch sentence, and keep going.
The Four-Week Rule
I am A2-B1 in Dutch. Give me a short voice roleplay. Ask one question at a time, correct only one target mistake, and make me repeat the corrected sentence.
Each session should have one situation, one correction target, one repeated answer, and one follow-up question.
Week 1: Make Simple Answers Automatic
Ask me five simple Dutch questions about myself and my day. Keep it A1-A2. Correct only word order and make me repeat the natural answer.
Practice where you live, what you do, why you are learning Dutch, what you like, and what you did yesterday.
Week 2: Practice One Pattern Per Day
Use this rotation:
- verb-second word order
- de/het nouns
- g/ch pronunciation
- natural short replies
Roleplay ordering food in Dutch. Correct only verb-second word order and make me repeat the corrected sentence.
If the correction becomes too long, ask for the natural sentence first, repeat it, then answer one more question.
Week 3: Learn Repair Phrases
Practice saying you do not understand, asking for repetition, asking for slower speech, and asking how to say a missing word.
Start a Dutch conversation and deliberately ask me one question I might not understand. Help me use repair phrases instead of switching to English.
Week 4: Run Real-Life Roleplays
Choose one situation each day: ordering food, asking directions, buying a ticket, making plans, talking about your day, explaining that you are learning Dutch, or asking someone to repeat.
Roleplay this Dutch situation with me. Correct only the mistake that blocks communication, then make me repeat the better sentence.
Do three passes: slow, corrected, and more natural speed.
ChickyTutor Prompt Pack
ChickyTutor, ask me beginner Dutch questions about my day. Correct only the target from this week.
ChickyTutor, make me repeat the corrected Dutch sentence before you ask the next question.
ChickyTutor, after the roleplay, give me one pronunciation note and one sentence to repeat.
FAQ
Is A2 enough to start speaking Dutch?
Yes. A2 is enough for short controlled voice sessions with one correction target and repeated answers.
What should ChickyTutor correct first?
Start with the issue that makes you freeze: verb-second word order, de/het nouns, g/ch pronunciation, natural short replies.
How often should I practice?
Ten to fifteen minutes a day is enough if you speak aloud and repeat corrected Dutch sentences.
Can this replace a human tutor?
Not completely. ChickyTutor is best as the daily private speaking engine between lessons.
What a Good Dutch ChickyTutor Session Feels Like
A good session should not feel like a grammar lecture. It should feel like a short exchange where you keep speaking. For Dutch, the best correction targets are often verb-second word order, de/het nouns, g/ch pronunciation, and natural short replies.
Try this:
ChickyTutor, roleplay ordering coffee in Dutch. Correct only verb-second word order. After every correction, make me repeat the full sentence once.
Then add one follow-up:
ChickyTutor, now ask the same question in a slightly different way so I can use the corrected Dutch sentence again.
That repeated use is the point. You are training the pattern to come back under pressure, not collecting one-off corrections.
