A 4-Week Indonesian Speaking Plan Built Around Daily Voice Practice

This plan is for the learner who understands more Indonesian than they can say. You may recognize words, follow slow explanations, and complete app exercises, but live speaking still feels like building a sentence while someone waits.

The Four-Week Rule

Do not ask for a general lesson. Ask for a short voice task.

I am A2-B1 in Indonesian. Give me a short voice roleplay. Ask one question at a time, correct only one target mistake, and make me repeat the corrected sentence.

Each session should have:

• one correction target
• one repeated answer
• one follow-up question

Indonesian does not require a new script for most learners, so use that advantage. Spend less time delaying and more time speaking short sentences aloud.

Week 1: Make Simple Answers Automatic

Goal: answer personal questions without translating every word first.

Ask:

Ask me five simple Indonesian questions about myself and my day. Keep it A1-A2. Correct only word order and make me repeat the natural answer.

Practice:

• where you live
• what you do
• why you are learning Indonesian
• what you like
• what you did yesterday

Short answers are fine. A sentence you can say out loud beats a perfect answer you only understand silently.

Week 2: Practice One Grammar Pattern Per Day

Goal: make grammar appear inside speech.

Use this rotation:

• word order in noun phrases
• me-/ber- verb comfort
• natural spoken phrasing
• pronunciation and rhythm
• repair phrases

Prompt:

Roleplay ordering food in Indonesian. Correct only word order in noun phrases and make me repeat the corrected sentence.

If ChickyTutor gives too much explanation, ask for the model sentence first. Repeat it, then answer one more follow-up.

Week 3: Learn Repair Phrases

Goal: stay in Indonesian when you do not understand.

Practice saying:

• I do not understand.
• Can you repeat?
• More slowly, please.

• I want to say ...

Ask:

Start a Indonesian conversation and deliberately ask me one question I might not understand. Help me use repair phrases instead of switching to English.
