Apps I use to study Ukrainian from zero (simple, speaking-first, no overwhelm)

A useful app stack assigns one job to each tool. It does not ask one product to teach every skill, and it does not create four competing streaks.

Use resources that keep output clearly Ukrainian rather than accepting unmarked forms from another language. Pair a structured path with Ukrainian audio and stress-aware lookup. Product pages and availability can change, so use the official links below to check current access before paying.

The core: Duolingo Ukrainian

Duolingo Ukrainian is the free guided habit in this stack. Its useful role is short vocabulary and sentence exercises for regular beginner contact.

Limit: It needs explicit grammar, broader listening, and open speaking beside it.

Use this most days. It supplies the path, so the other tools do not need to compete for your attention.

The input partner: Ukrainian Lessons

Ukrainian Lessons is the Ukrainian-specific audio and explanations in this stack. Its useful role is podcast lessons and learner resources centered on Ukrainian.

Limit: Check which materials are free or paid and add deliberate writing practice.

Use this two or three times a week for repeated listening and examples beyond the core course.

The specialist: LingQ Ukrainian

LingQ Ukrainian is the reading and listening volume in this stack. Its useful role is audio with transcripts, vocabulary lookup, and imported content.

Limit: Imported material varies; verify stress and disputed forms with a trusted source.

Add it only when its narrow job is blocking progress. If you cannot name the gap, do not add the tool yet.

The output handoff: ChickyTutor

ChickyTutor for Ukrainian has one job here: make you retrieve language already checked in the other tools. It can run a private exchange, ask an unprepared follow-up, and make you repeat one repaired answer.

Run a five-minute Ukrainian train-ticket roleplay. Correct one case or aspect problem, make me repeat the full sentence, then change the departure time.

A small weekly test

Use the first tool on four days, the second on two or three, and the third only when its specific job appears. End three sessions with the output prompt. At the end of the week, remove any tool that produced notifications but no sentence you could understand or say.

The stack is working when you can reuse a checked phrase after the situation changes. Adding another app is not progress unless it fixes a gap the current three cannot cover.
