Explore Estonian tools by learning goal: guided speaking with ChickyTutor, free lesson paths, vocabulary review, native audio and pronunciation exercises.
You can practise speaking Estonian from your first sentences and keep going as your answers become more detailed. ChickyTutor guides that practice at your level, with feedback as you translate sentences aloud. Estonian also has free state-supported courses and locally developed tools worth exploring for grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
Guided speaking and feedback: ChickyTutor
ChickyTutor Estonian practice gives you guided sentence translation into Estonian. The tutor listens to your answer and helps you work through grammar, word order and phrasing.
Start with short everyday sentences if you are new to Estonian. With more experience, practise changes in tense and case or build longer sentences. Advanced learners can work on expressing precise meanings and choosing wording for different situations.
The tutor leads the lesson, and you can ask for more help or another attempt. AI corrections can be wrong, including on Estonian cases and idiomatic usage. Check uncertain feedback with a teacher or trusted reference, and use native recordings and dedicated sound exercises for pronunciation.
Try guided Estonian speaking practice.
A free course sequence
Keeleklikk, Keeletee, and Keelelend
Keeleklikk currently links Estonian courses from beginner 0-A2 through B1 and B2. Estonia's Ministry of Education and Research describes Keeleklikk as a free beginner course with extensive exercises and teacher support.
The learning environment feels more like a course portal than a streak app, so schedule a chapter and keep your own progress note.
Vocabulary and short daily lessons
Lingvist
Lingvist Estonian focuses on high-frequency vocabulary in adaptive short sessions. It suits learners who already have a course and want more efficient word review.
Vocabulary strength does not automatically produce command of Estonian cases or natural conversation. Put every reviewed word into a sentence from Keeleklikk or native content.
Speakly
Speakly is an Estonian company whose current language list includes Estonian. It combines frequent vocabulary, sentence work, listening, and speaking-oriented activities in one paid app.
Test the Estonian course itself during the trial. Consult a grammar reference when you need more explanation, and check uncertain phrasing with a proficient speaker.
Ling
Ling Estonian uses short lessons, native-speaker audio, vocabulary games, and dialogue activities. Ling currently lists speaking activities for Estonian on Android and web, but not iOS, so platform matters.
Check the device feature before subscribing. Hide answer choices when you want to test production rather than recognition.
Practical phrases with native audio
uTalk
uTalk Estonian teaches practical words and phrases with native-speaker recordings and record-and-compare exercises. It is useful for travel situations and focused phrase acquisition.
It does not supply a full grammar path. Connect each phrase topic to a Keeleklikk unit and learn how the relevant word forms change.
Dedicated pronunciation exercises
SayEst
SayEst is a free Android pronunciation app developed by the University of Tartu and collaborators. It focuses on Estonian vowels and consonants through dedicated exercises.
This is a narrow tool, which is its strength. It does not teach a complete language course, and Android availability may exclude some learners.
Estonian on Duolingo
Estonian was absent from Duolingo's official course selector on August 8, 2026. Recheck the selector later because catalogues change.
