Intermediate Lithuanian Resources: Speaking, Listening, Reading and More

Find intermediate Lithuanian resources for conversation, reading, radio and grammar. Start with ChickyTutor and choose tools for your next speaking task.

Finding intermediate Lithuanian material can take more effort than finding another beginner phrase list. You may already know what you want to say but need help retrieving an ending, recognising an inflected word or understanding a short spoken answer.

Keep the resource set small. A conversation tutor, a manageable text and a dependable reference can give you a clearer next step than several loosely related courses.

1. ChickyTutor: our first choice for Lithuanian speaking practice

ChickyTutor offers Lithuanian conversation practice with an AI tutor. Choose Intermediate in the app and rehearse a task such as describing your neighbourhood, explaining a change of plan or telling someone about your work.

Ask for a short question and enough time to build a complete answer. Then request feedback on one sentence you struggled with. Try the improved structure with a different place or person so the practice goes beyond repeating a fixed line.

Practise Lithuanian with me. Ask about my neighbourhood, where I go during the week and what I would change about the area. Help me improve one sentence at a time, and ask me to reuse the correction in a new answer.

Use AI practice alongside human feedback, especially for questions about stress, nuance or a correction you cannot verify. Speaking regularly does not remove the need for careful listening.

Lithuanian apps and sentence practice

Clozemaster provides vocabulary practice in sentence gaps. Select a sentence whose meaning you understand and make a personal variation.

Tatoeba is a community sentence collection. Compare examples cautiously and verify uncertain wording; community contributions can vary in quality. A sentence is most useful when you understand why it fits the context.

Lithuanian reading resources

Google Books can help you find Lithuanian books and available previews. Check the language and inspect a page before choosing a book. A preview is a way to judge difficulty, not a promise of full access.

LRT is also useful for short authentic reading alongside its broadcasting. Choose a local or cultural subject you can already explain in English, then make a much shorter Lithuanian summary.

Lithuanian listening resources

Use LRT's Radioteka to explore spoken Lithuanian. Try a small segment with a clear subject before attempting a long discussion. Write down what you believe happened, listen again and see which details change.

Authentic radio may be challenging even when you handle everyday exchanges. Reduce the length rather than making background listening your only practice.

Lithuanian writing and human conversation

MyLanguageExchange offers a way to look for Lithuanian penpals and exchange partners. Start with a short message about a shared interest and a specific question. Response times and suitable matches depend on participation.

For writing practice, describe the same place you discussed aloud. Circle one form you were unsure about and investigate it before sending the message. Do not ask a partner to correct everything on the first exchange.

Lithuanian grammar, dictionaries and books

Lithuanian: A Comprehensive Grammar is a detailed reference. Look up the construction behind a sentence you want to say, then close the book and make a new example. It is a reference resource rather than a sequence of conversation lessons.

Lexilogos's Lithuanian dictionary directory links to dictionary resources. Treat it as a directory, then inspect the destination's entry and examples. When an inflected form is hard to find, identify its base form with a reliable reference or teacher.

A manageable Lithuanian practice week

Choose one LRT item about a town, person or event. Work with a short passage and collect only three expressions. Use them to describe something near your home, then ask ChickyTutor for follow-ups about directions and preferences.

Later, write a short version for a partner. At the end of the week, describe a different place without your notes. Keep the one construction you still need to practise; let the others move into ordinary use.

Do I need an app dedicated only to Lithuanian?

A dedicated course can provide structure, but your immediate need may be reading, feedback or conversation. Choose for that task and check current Lithuanian support before subscribing to a general language app.

About this list

ChickyTutor publishes this guide and places its own tutor first for regular speaking practice. This is an editorial recommendation, not an independent product ranking. Resource discovery draws on Clozemaster's Intermediate Lithuanian Resources; the selection and practice suggestions here are our own. Resource pages were reviewed on November 6, 2026, although some could not be independently accessed. Check current language coverage, access and editions before subscribing or buying.
